“And he took her in his arms and kissed her under the sunlit sky,
and he cared not that they stood high upon the walls in the sight of many.” ― J.R.R. Tolkien

Prior to this year going just bat-shit crazy, Princess and AJ had originally planned to get married in the Philippines. But as a lot of soon-to-be married couples found out this year, this current pandemic had forced alot of couples to scrap any previous plans they had and rethink of other ways on how they can go through with their wedding. If at all. Some completely cancelled and rescheduled their wedding dates while others had to tweak and modify their wedding to adhere to the new guidelines. And while there are a select few that chose to just go on an endless twitter rant, Princess & AJ took action and decided to go ahead with their wedding. Albeit, with major changes. They had to completely rework their wedding and come up with a new plan. First, it was imperative that their wedding date will be on their anniversary date. Which was quickly approaching. Next the only guests they will have will be their own bridal party. And to take it to the next level, they even decided to say their vows only with the two of them present. But I think what made this wedding really special and truly theirs is that the location that they chose to have their wedding. It’s the same place they used to frequent when they were still dating. Serra Cross Park sits on top of a hill with a tall wooden cross overlooking a panoramic view of Ventura Beach. And although AJ had always wanted a wedding by the beach, Princess eventually found out from their officiant that the place they use to hang out in also holds weddings. And with summer days tending to linger on a bit longer, it was the perfect place to have a wedding during sunset.

So if someone were to tell me that AJ & Princess’s wedding will be my only wedding of 2020 then I will be more than content & happy. Their wedding is one of the most relaxed and carefree wedding I have covered. I loved covering every minute of it. From photographing their silly, but fun-loving bridal party to the intimate moments they shared as they were saying their vows to each other. Even the way the sun was setting in the horizon as we did their bride & groom portraits was perfection. Everything just came together. So if there is one thing that couples can take away from this pandemic is that: love isn’t cancelled in 2020.
