This Quarantine has got to be the busiest times that couples got….busy. I kid you not when I say that there are at least 6 or 7 people that I personally know that announced their pregnancy within this year. Ben & Abby are one of them. They were still living in San Francisco during the time when Abby DM’d me a couple months ago regarding a maternity shoot. Although I wanted to shoot them in my favorite city, but due to my current situation, the logistics and the pandemic, all those things together had a hand in making sure a trip to San Francisco might not happen for awhile. It was a bummer for sure. But Southern California still has a lot to offer, location wise. And this quiet, less touristy spot in Ventura was more than enough to quell my craving for nice, isolated locations.
Maternity shoots have always been more challenging than shooting your regular couples. Besides the fact that the women are carrying a tiny human being inside them, and beautiful as they are while they are pregnant, prancing on top of rocks, climbing trees or even as simple as laying down on the ground requires more thought and care. Thankfully Abby and Ben are such a fun couple to work with that they were willing to try any ideas that I had in mind and just went along for the ride. I am excited that they are about to embark in this wonderful journey called parenthood. And I have no doubt in my mind that they will be awesome parents. Congratulations Abby & Ben!
